His current research focuses on how Roman administrative institutions impacted the occurrence of provincial revolts, how studying provincial revolts may provide novel insights on imperial-level policies and army recruitment, and surveys on issues surrounding veteran settlement in the Roman Empire.Graham Wrightson is Associate Professor of History at South Dakota State University, USA. His research focuses primarily on Macedonian military history with a special focus on military manuals, combined arms and the sarissa phalanx. He has published over twenty articles and papers on Macedonian warfare, edited multiple conference proceeding edited volumes, and three monographs. He organizes the annual Warfare in the Ancient World International Conference (WAWIC) hybrid every June and the annual interdisciplinary Many Faces of War online conference every March. He is the founding president of the Midwest Ancient Warfare Network and the Upper Midwest Ancient History Network, both based in the USA.
